What are the advantages of a knockout?

A

What is a knockout competition?

A

One team plays against another and the winner goes onto the next round and the loser drops out of the competition. Most are played in rounds and can even have some seeded teams or players.

A

If you lose you only get to play one game and you may need to have qualifying events or byes to get to the right mathematical number in order to lose half the entry dying each round.
