What does a mouth of a jaw fish look like? + function
A
- most fish have a jawed mouth with a tongue and teeth. They use their teeth to seize prey or to tear off pieces of their victim’s flesh.

What is the process of swallowing food ?
A
- food passes through the pharynx on the way to the oesophagus. A fish’s oesophagus expands easily, which allows the fish to swallow its food whole.
- Some fish have their oesophagus or stomach enlarged into a gizzard. The gizzard grinds food into small pieces before it passes into the intestines.
