That teachers’ expectations have a huge effect on the performance of pupils, working lass pupils are given low expectations by teachers as they are seen as the devient pupils negatively affecting achievenment

not everyone accpets the labell given to them as he found with the black girls given a negative label but worked hard to prove the teacher wrong

due to labelling students get put in bottom or top sets whivh affects achievenment and causes a differnce as the working class are normally in the bottom set while mc in the top so they get higher grades

that it is meritocratic and those in top are bottom set are put there based on there ability through things like testing

mc have a pro school attitude and wc as an anti school attitude due to the process of which teacher categarise students. leading to a bad view of education and lowering self esteem

working class ideas and values are what causes these subcultures so it can be seen as an external factor than an internal one

the curriculum at school only benefits the mc with cultural capital. for example textbooks are written by middle class people and in ellaborate code which only middle class will understand
