A
- Visually
- Palpate (if unerupted or no bumps)
- Radiographs (if cannot see)
OPT is preferred radiograph

A
a tooth that’s not located in the dental arch due to a faulty course during eruption

what are the risks of doing nothing to ectopic primary teeth?

- the permanent tooth is likely to become ectopic
- permanent tooth might fail to erupt
- risk of root resorption to adjacent teeth
- the permanent tooth may become ankylosed
