Level 1: General intelligence (g) basic level
Level 2: breaks down general iq into 8 general abilities
Level 3: defines iq as very precise and different thinking processes. breaks down skills needed for 8 general abilities.
Fluid intelligence:
ability to think on the spot/solve problems. Depends and operates on short term memory & working memory
crystallized intelligence:
long-term memory storage, factual knowledge about the world, numbers, names
BAYLEY SCALES OF INFANT DEVELOPMENT
- Cognitive: how child is thinking, reacting, solving problems
- Language: receptive/expressive
- Motor: fine (small scale) / gross (big scale or “whole body”)
- Social-Emotional
- Adaptive Behaviour: based on parent reporting
WECHSLER IQ SCALE FOR CHILDREN
- verbal comprehension: meaning of words
- Visual-Spacial processing: Childs ability to comprehend spatial details and recognize patterns
- Working memory: ability to take in and use knowledge
- Fluid Reasoning: ability to detect relationships and rules to visuals.
- processing speed: how fast children can figure things out and use that knowledge
