Q

Standard rate turn

A

3 degrees per second

Trick: use 15% of true airspeed to determine the bank angle. Divide by 10 and add back half.

Ex: 100 Knots TAS / 10 = 10 + 5 = 15 degree bank

Q

Coordinated rollout

A

Divide the standard turn rate by 2 and subtract from desired heading

Ex:

  • Current heading is 030
  • Desired heading is 120
  • 15 degree bank is standard rate

In this example, you’d start the rollout at 112.5 heading
