Current departure weather conditions may be obtained through what sources:

To determine i non-standard takeoff procedures are applicable to your departure aerodrome:
Refer to the TLA table of contents
look for the T symbol in the pilot briefing section of the IAP chart
Alternate airfield is required if:
- Radar is required for the approach
- The NAVAID is unmonitored
- predominant weather at ETA + 1hr is at least: 400ft and 1sm visibility above the required for that approach.
An IAP may be selected as an alternate if what following requirements are met?
- Weather forecast is 400/1 above the weather planning minimums
- GPS not required
- Radar not required
- Does not have A NA in the pilot brief section
- NAVAIDs are monitored
- Surface base airspace is in effect

PMSV (Pilot to metro service) - Metro
HIWAS (hazardous inflight weather advisory service)
