The noun phrase makes the audience realise she is describing Eric. This also highlights her hypocrisy to the audience: we know that she would not apply the same standards to her own family.

The repetition of the imperative ‘stop’ emphasises Sheila’s realisation highlighting that she is now beginning to order her own mother eager than being the one being commanded. It also reveals that Sheila is smarter than the other family members as she notices that they are a wall which the inspector will knock down.
