The supervisor conducting an outdoor inspection will do so in an area that provides a safe backdrop for unloading the weapon. Members will clear their weapon by first removing the magazine and then locking the slide to the rear. Members shall visually check the chamber to assure the weapon is unloaded and safe. They will individually inspect each weapon for cleanliness and to see if an appropriate amount of lubrication is present. Supervisors have the option of conducting the firearms inspection at the Home Avenue Range Facility.
