innervation Flashcards
What nerve serves the anti or and lateral compartments?
common fibular division of the sciatic nerve.
What are both posterior compartments served by?
the tibial division of the sciatic nerve
Which muscles receive innervation from both the lunar plexus and the sacral plexus?
tibialis anterior (deep fibular nerve, L4 and L5), the tibialis posterior (tibial nerve, L4 and L5)
How do yo test the L4 spinal nerve?
having a patient invert their foot
because tibialis anterior and tibialis posterior are foot inverting muscles that receive fibers from L4
what is the spinal root of tibialis anterior in the anterior compartment?
Deep fibular N (mainly L4, >L5)
What is the spinal root origin of Extensor hallicus longus in th interior compartment?
Deep fibular N (L5)
What is the spinal root origin of Extensor digitorum longus in th interior compartment?
Deep fibular N (L5, S1)
What is the spinal root for fibularis tertius?
same as extensor digitorum longus Deep fibular N (L5, S1)
What is the spinal root origin for fibularis longus and brevis in the lateral compartment?
superficial fibular N (L5-S2
What is the spinal root origin for flexor digitorum longus in the deep posterior muscles?
Tibial N (S2, S3)
What is the spinal root origin for the tibialis posterior in the deep posterior compartment?
Tibial N (L4, L5)
What is the spinal root origin for the flexor hallucis longus in the deep posterior compartment?
Tibial N (S2, S3)
What is the spinal root origin for all muscles in the superficial posterior compartment?
tibial N (S1, S2)
