Stages of information management

Collect
At this stage, the business will be collecting data from customers and clients. Usually done by filling out applications/forms. Whilst collecting data, the business must ensure the data collected is accurate, up to date and relevant for business use.
Store
As information collected, it must also be stored. The most common methods of storing customer/client data are spreadsheets and databases. Data stored must be kept secure in order to avoid breaking the data protection act.
Retrieve
The business will be fetching the data collected earlier for business use.
Manipulate and process
Manipulating and processing data refers to organising data. Types of manipulating data includes
Analyse
Analysing data shows the business different patterns and trends about their data.
Security
Businesses will have to take certain measures to keep their data and information safe.
Transmitting and communicating
Transmitting and communicating refers to sending information to where it belongs.
