secure respondents were more likely to have good and longer lasting romantic relationships
avoidant respondents tended top be jealous and fear intimacy

❌ the influence of infant attachment on future relationships is exaggerated, over emphasising the risk leads to too much pessimism about ppl’s futures. ppl may start with nothing but be determined to make a change to that
❌issues with validity, issues with self report techniques: use interviews and questionnaires later on in life which increases chance of inaccurate recall. relies on ppl being honest with a realistic view of their own relationships … social desirability
❌ theoretical issues with the IWM, were not consciously aware the influence it has on us so we cant expect to get direct evidence through self report techniques.
