  • Irrigate with warm saline
  • Avoid curettage

    • RO area not attached to root
    • PDL is widened or shows rarefying osteitis

  • Acute/chronic inflammation away from initial site
  • Caused by pyogenic organisms - staph strep
  • Diffue (large) area involved, patchy, not localized and not well-defined, moth eaten
  • May have sequestrum- pieces of necrotic bone
  • Pain common usually in mand
  • Looks like cancer radiographically
