- blood vessels DILATE
- Become LEAKY -> edema
- WBCs enter inflamed tissue

Aspirin
A
- inhibits COX 1 & 2
- antiinflam, antipyretic analgesic
- effects for musculoskeletal pain, but not visceral
Adverse effects
- bleeding
- reye syndrom
- could be fatal –> hepatic necrosis
- avoid from infants

Ibuprofen
A
- antiinflam, antipyretic, analgesic
- inhibit COX 1 & 2
Adverse effects:
- gastric ulcers, less intense than asprin
- Myocardial iinfarctions

Celecoxib
A
- COX 2 selective (not involved with clotting for blood)
- osteoarthritis antiinflammatory
- poor analgesic
Adverse effect
- reduced flow to kidney = hyptension / renal faiure –> Myocardial infarction/ stroke
- arthritis for chronis use
Do not use for:
- patients with OA or RA
- MI/ stroke/ Hypertension

acetaminophen
A
- inhbits PG synthesis –>antipyretic analgesic
- poor antiinflammatory effect / blood clotting
- NO LONGER CONSIDERED NSAID
