what are post op instructions for IDB?
Warn patient about extent of numbness.
Confirm tingling in tongue and lip.
Expect it to take a few minutes to take.
Confirm total numbness prior to beginning treatment.
Post treatment instructions given to patient.
what anaesthetic do we not use of an IDB and why?
articane as its a higher concentration higher risk of inferior alveolar nerve or lingual nerve damage.
what is the difference between lidocaine and prilocaine (citanest)?
lidocaine has adrenaline in it where as prilocaine (citanest) has no adrenaline its plain although prilocaine has fellypressin in it which we cannot use on pregnant patients
