Inferential Tests Flashcards
1
Q
What’s inferential tests
A
Helps makes references about our data and draw meaningful conclusions from number(Quantitative data)
2
Q
What’s statistical tests
A
Aim to find out whether it’s likely that any pattern in the data could have arisen by chance or variables
3
Q
What’s significance level
A
Arisen due chance
Usually set at p<0.05(5%)
4
Q
Paramedic tests-design and data
A
1)Correlation-ORDINAL/INTERVAL- Spearmans Rho
2)Independent Measures;
NOMINAL-Chi square
ORDINAL- Mann Whitney
3)Repeated Measures/Matched pairs;
NOMINAL-Binomial sign
ORDINAL- Wilcoxon
5
Q
Chi square test
A
- test of association which looks for patterns in nominal data
- tests whether distribution of results differs from what would be expected on the basis of chance alone
- compare actual data with data set based on null hypothesis
- observe value>critical value=Null rejected
6
Q
Mann Whitney U test
A
- used to find whether there’s a significant difference between 2 sets of data
- observe value
7
Q
Binomial sign test
A
- Used to find out whether there’s a significant difference between 2 sets of data-Must come from the same parts
- observe
8
Q
Wilcoxon tear
A
- It’s use is that same as Binomial
- observe=critical =Null rejected
9
Q
Spearmans rho test
A
- Used to find whether there’s a relationship between 2 variables
- observe>critical =Null rejected
