Abdominal pain. Bloody diarrhoea. Fatigue. Anorexia. Weight loss. Shortness of breath. Tachycardia. Fever.
What are some extraintestinal symptoms of colitis. (4)
Arthritis.
Apathous ulcers.
Painful, erythematous skin.
Red eyes.
What is a common cause of infective colitis.
Clostridium difficile.
What is infective colitis caused by clostridium difficile often referred as.
Pseudomembranous colitis.
What are some other causative organisms of infective colitis. (2)
Shigella.
E.coli (O157:H7).

Entamoeba histolytica.
When might pseudomembranous colitis occur.

Temp > 38.5. WCC>15. Creatinine >50% above baseline. Raised lactate. Severe abdominal pain.
