What 4 bacteria do cephalosporins have no activity against?
Listeria
Atypicals (Mycobacteria/Chlamydia)
MRSA
Enterococci
What 2 cephalosporins work against pseudomonas?
Ceftazadime (3rd Gen)
Cefepime (4tg Gen, extended spectrum)
Name 5 Gram Negative Bacilli
Klebsiella E. Coli Proteus Mirabilis Pseudomonas ESCAPPM - Enterobacter, Serratia, Citrobacter, Morganella
Generally think of the ones that cause UTIS
What do you use to treat ESCAPPM?
Enterobactera, Serratia, Citrobacter, Aeromonas, Proteus, Providencia, Morgenella
Inheritantly resistant to cephalosporins due to AmpC-Beta-lactamase.
Often need aminoglycosides (gentamicin, 302 ribosomal subunit) or carbapenems (Beta-lactams)
