What sort of infection can occur in HIV patients leading to visual problems and blindness?
Herpes infection can lead to retinitis
Treatment regimen for TB - what are the side effects?
Rifampicin, pyrazinamine, isoniazid - liver failure
Ethambutol - toxic optic neuropathy
Which disease is being described?
Early: headache, slow rising fever, bradycardia
Later: Hepatosplenomegally + green pea soup diarrhoea
Complications: intestinal haemmorhage and neurological deficits

What should happen with a pregnancy if the mother is HIV +ve?
Caesarian not required but avoid breastfeeding
How do you treat otitis externa?
Gentamicin and hydrocortisone drops
2nd/3rd line: microsuturing

If done before 3 month post-exposure, insufficient time for seroconversion therefore -ve test result
Serious side effect of ethambutol?
Decrease visual acuity and decrease colour vision via OPTIC NEURITIS
Treatment of malaria?
Atovaquone and proguanil
Quinine and doxycycline
