Pathophysiology (3)
A
Initially localised in tonsils and lymph nodes
Damages vascular endothelial cells leading to petechial haemorrhage
Replicated in hepatocytes resulting in damage and organ enlargement

Hx/cs/exam Haematology Liver profile - ALT/ALKP/bile salts Bleed time test - liver damage leads to reduced fibrinogen or molecules with reduced activity Ultrasound Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay
