interaction: potentiates epinephrine
se: at toxic dose can cause constipation, abdominal dissension, irregular menses, amenorrhea
Hypericum perforatum
volatile oil, napthodianthrones (hypericin), ploroglucinols (hyperforin), catechins, proanthocyananidins, flavonoids
interactions: benzo, TCA, SSRI, use to wean off MAOIs
potentiates antiretrovirals, antagonizes theophylline, cyclosporine, digoxin, warfarin
induces CYP450
ci: suicidal, high doses in pregnancy
se: high doses with exposure to UV light causes photosensitivity, alopecia, diarrhea, indigestion, fatigue, depression, elevated liver enzymes
Larrea tridentata
lignans, resins, flavonoids
interactions: caution with hepatotoxic drugs, inhibits CYP450
ci: liver disease, large areas of broken skin (topical), pregnancy, lactation, high doses, long term use
se: strong taste, nausea, vomit, jaundice, hepatotoxicity, contact dermatitis

ci; pregnancy
