A

dysuria

skene’s gland / bartholin’s gland affected

systemic / extragenital:
- pharyngitis
- rectal pain + discharge
- disseminated infection

A

Vulvovaginal swab analysed by NAAT

microscopy : gram - diplococci within polymorphnuclear leukocytes

A

Bacteraemia - septic arthritis, rash, tenosynovitis, skin lesions, meningitis

How to manage gonorrhoea?

A

Ceftriaxone 1g IM

if penicillin allergy:
- oral cefixme + oral azithromycin

A

screen for other STIs: STI+ HIV screen

Contact tracing

Avoid sex for 7 days until them and partner completes treatment

Follow up patient after 1 weeks for test of cure
