A

A

Simon commission (a group of 7 MP’s) wrote a report under the guidance of Baldwin calling for greater Indian independence

A

Hosted round table conferences with Gandhi invited to develop the conversation further about independence. This faced fierce opposition from Churchill and he was placed in the political wilderness.

A

The Bengal famine. 3 million deaths as a result when Japan invaded Burma and cut off the food supply to Bengal. Churchill is widely blamed for a lack of responce to the crisis.
