India is located in South Asia and is isolated by the Himalayas.

What are monsoons?
Powerful winds that can cause flooding. During October to February these monsoons carry dry air across the country. But in June they switch to making huge rain clouds.

IRV:
-Daily life in Harappa was peaceful, they all had jobs they were to complete. They were all a happy community and worked together. They traded and produced toys for kids meaning they were prosperous.
-Their religion was a theocracy, they prayed for good harvests and protection from floods.
-The IRVC had a strong central government as proved by the intricate city planning. It was a theocracy.
-The Harappans had a spoken and written language but it cant be translated.
-Social class did not effect the lives of the Harappans
-Harappa was protected by a thick wall and it was raised. The streets were designed in grids and they had a sewage system for almost every house.
-The economy was heavily influenced by trade. Stamps were
used as labels when trading.

- When the Aryan invaded they brought the Vedas with them. The Vedas were a sacred texts comparable to a modern bible. It was a very early form of Hinduism. Religion was a deciding factor in your caste.
- The government was ruled by an elected position and they had an army of warriors.
- The Aryan’s spoke Sanskrit and the Vedas brought the epic tales that told the story of Aryan kings struggling to take over the IRVC
- The Vedas brought castes.
- The Aryans invaded the IRVC and brought their two wheeled chariots with them. These chariots helped when invading regions.
Define Reincarnation:
Belief of the souls rebirth
Was based on karma meaning bad and good deeds followed the souls through lives and influenced caste placement
Define Aryans:
The Aryans were lighter skinned Indo-Europeans that invaded the Indus River Valley Civilization.
Aryan = Lighter Skinned
Define Dasas.
The Dasas were the inhabitants of the Indus River Valley and were enemies of the Aryans (the Varna).
Define Varnas.
The Varna were the Aryan who were taller, lighter skinned and were nomadic.
Define Harappa.
Harappa was the main city of the Indus River Valley civilization. It featured very intricate city planning.
Define Subcontinent.
A subcontinent is a land mass that is separated from the rest of the continent by a physical barrier such as mountains.
Define Indo-European.
Nomads who lived in tribes and fought with two wheeled chariots.
Define Migration.
Migration: Moving from one region to another
Define Hittites:
A group of Indo-Europeans who were located in Anatolia.
