What are inclusive environments?
An inclusive environment recognises and accommodates differences in the way people use the built and natural environment
It does not socially separate, discriminate or isolate.
What is discrimination?
The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on grounds of race, religion, age, sex or disability.
What regulations govern inclusive environments?
The Equality Act 2010
How does the Equality Act 2010 influence inclusive environments?
Under the Equality Act 2010, it is unlawful to discriminate on grounds of any of the protected characteristics

2) Race
3) Sex
4) Gender Reassignment
5) Pregnancy
6) Religion
7) Belief

1) Physical access - ramps / lifts for wheelchair access
2) Hearing loops
3) Dedicated feeding areas for new parents
4) Accessible parking bays
5) Contrasting colours for partially blind on stairs / door frame etc.
