Asthma Symptoms
Narrowing of bronchial tree with productive or non-productive cough
Wheezing, comes in episodes, worse with cold air or exercise
Less expiration output
Asthma Emergency Symptoms
Cyanosis of face/lips Decreased level of alertness Rapid pulse Severe anxiety Chest pain Breathing temporarily stops Sweating
Asthma Main Goal
Prevention (avoid triggers and medicate)
Multiple Sclerosis
Attacks brain and spinal cord resulting in demyelination of nerves in CNS
MS Symptoms
Fatigue Vision problems Numbness Changes in gait Spasticity Balance problems Bladder/bowel dysfunction Changes in cognition/emotions
Myasthenia Gravis
Ach receptors are altered or destroyed by antibodies at NMJ which prevents contraction of muscles
MG Symptoms
Heavy head/weak neck Speech impairment Drooping eyelids Vision problems Fatigue Hoarseness Facial paralysis Breathing/swallowing difficulties
Guillain-Barre
Similar to MS but peripheral nerves are demyelinated and it’s temporary
Critical to keep body and respiratory system functioning
Sjogren’s Syndrome
Fluid for eyes and mouth is stopped
Use drops and special mouthwash
Hashimoto’s Disease
Decreased T3/T4 production
Hypothyroidism
Hashimoto’s Symptoms
Fatigue Increased sensitivity to cold Constipation Dry skin Puffy face Weight gain Muscle aches and stiffness Goiter
Grave’s Disease
Excess T3/T4 production
Hyperthyroidism

Crohn’s Disease
Ulcers the length of intestines but not in rectum
Ulcerative colitis
Ulcers in lower portion of large intestine starting at rectum
