What are bitmap images?
A
- Made of pixels (single colour squares arranged on grid).
- Each pixel is assigned a binary value which represents the colour of that pixel.

A
- Depends on the total amount of pixels (resolution).
- Scaling a bitmap image up results in a loss of quality.
- Photos/screenshots are bitmap images.

A
- The total amount of pixels.

Vector Images:
A
- Are drawn by the computer following precise mathematical instructions to create liens and objects.
- Usually smaller in file size compared to big maps because each pixel in a bitmap is stored as an individual binary value.
