A

range of diseases which affect the lung parenchyma with cellular infiltration and/or fibrosis of the alveoli, interstitium and distal airways

A

progressive breathlessness

  • idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
  • sarcoidosis
  • hypersensitivity pneumonitis
  • pneumoconiosis
  • drug related interstitial disease

Signs of ILD

A
  • clubbing
  • peripheral cyanosis
  • fine crackles, bi nasally
  • reduced expansion
  • fine crackles
  • lungs small, white diffuse nodular shadowing
  • FEV1 and FVC are both reduced
  • total lung capacity is reduced
