Indications for administration of antihistamines of II and III generations
1) Seasonal (pollinosis) and perennial allergic rhinitis.
2) Itchy dermatosis (atopic dermatitis, eczema, chronic recurrent urticaria
3) Chronic idiopathic urticaria
H1-histamine blockers with membrane stabilizing properties

treatment of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis; prevention of asthma attacks, asthmatic complications during pollinosis, exacerbations of allergic dermatosis.
Ketotifen Mechanism of action :
- Inhibition of phosphodiesterase,
- reduction of biodegradation of 3,5-cAMP and its accumulation in the cell
- mild blocking of H1-histamine receptors
- reduces the content of eosinophils in the respiratory tract
- Inhibits platelet activating factor
Ketotifen Indications
- bronchial asthma (prevention of seizures)
- pollinosis (prevention of asthmatic complications)
- allergic dermatosis
- allergic rhinoconjunctivitis
Ketotifen Unwanted side effects
- CNS depression
- dry mucous membranes (feeling of dry mouth)
- Thrombocytopenia
Ketotifen Contraindications
- for persons whose professional activity requires attention and high speed of sensorimotor reactions
- pregnancy and lactation
