ACVWPLS

VISIBILITY - not below alternate minima

WIND - not above ACFT limitations

PROV/PROB - Prov can’t go, Prob below alt minima

LIGHTING - refer requirements

STORMS - storms impose operational risks

Either 1 x published approach at the destination with 2 independent systems in the ACFT to use this aid

Requirements for lighting ?

A

Must have lighting available. (PAL, portable or permanent). If not PAL requires to turned on 10 mins prior to departure and remain on for 30 mins after.

For arrival must be turned on 30 mins prior to arrival to completion of taxi. If it’s PAL a responsible person is required with standby or portable light.

An alternate airport with PAL requires a responsible person

Takeoff minima for qualifying multi ?

Enroute 1.5-31

A

Zero feet ceiling 800 m vis.
This can be reduced to 550m if the following applies:

  • runway has illuminated edge lighting at spacing intervals not more then 60m and centre like markings or lighting
  • the aerodrome must have secondary power and a switchover capability of one second or less for centreline lights or runway edge lights

If at an uncontrolled aerodrome must only be reduced to 550 by day only
