What is Idiopathic Epilepsy?
Seizures with no apparent cause
Diagnosis of Idiopathic Epilepsy
Blood work, radiographs, CT scan, or MRI to rule out other causes
What is the usual age of onset of Idiopathic Epilepsy?
1-3 years

Treatment is started if seizures occur more than once per month. What drugs are administered? 3
- Phenobarbital
- KBr
- Zonisamide
What is status Epilepticus?
Medical emergency! Prolonged, uninterrupted seizure activity

-Drugs (Diazepam & Propofol)
-Establish airway for O2 therapy
- Iv Catheter + fluids
- Monitor body temperature
