Q
IBD pharmacological intervention
A
- Most common antibiotics: metronidazole and ciprofloxacin
- Aminosalicylates: first treatment for mild or moderate IBD
- Corticosteroids: stop inflammation
- Immunosupressive e.g. azathiopurine and mercaptopurine, ciclosporin
- Biological medicines: infliximab - expensive, for people who dont respond to steroids or immuno, by IV
