A

Suprahyoid

O: Anterior belly - digastric fossa on lower inside of mandible
​ Posterior belly - mastoid notch on medial side of mastoid process of temporal bone (deep to ​sternocleidomastoid and splenius capitis)​

​I: Attachment of tendon between two bellies to body of hyoid bone

A: Hyoid fixed – opens mouth (one of few muscles that does this) Mandible is fixed – raises the hyoid bone

N: Posterior - innervated by facial (CNVII)
Anterior - mylohyoid nerve from inferior alveolar branch of mandibular nerve V3 of the trigeminal nerve (CN V)
