Hydrological Cycle Flashcards
1
Q
What is the ‘hydrological cycle’?
A
the continuous movement of water between the oceans, air and land.
2
Q
Describe the hydrological cycle.
A
the sun warms oceans, lakes and seas, turning water into water vapour - this is called evaporation.
the air rises and condenses into tiny water droplets, forming clouds.
the droplets inside the clouds grow into larger droplets, leading to precipitation.
the water falls as rain, hail, sleet or snow.
some water runs along the ground and some head to rivers and streams.
the process repeats.
