Hydraulics Flashcards
How much fuel is required for hydraulic cooling on the P-3C?
1000 pounds in tanks 2 and 3.
How are hydraulic systems on a P-3C cooled?
Through heat transfer when hot hydraulic fluid passes through lines in the #2 and #3 fuel tanks.
What is Pascal’s law?
States the pressure exerted anywhere upon an enclosed liquid is transmitted undiminished, in all directions to the interior of the container.
What hydraulic pumps does the P-3C have?
Three AC driven pumps and one DC driven pump
What hydraulic pumps does the P-8A have?
Two AC driven pumps and two engine driven pumps.
What direct the flow of hydraulic fluid to the various actuating units?
Valves
Where are the hydraulic reservoirs on the P-3C and what is each one’s capacity?
In the hydraulic service center.
System #1 has a 5.6 gallon capacity.
System #2 has a 1 gallon capacity.
Where are the hydraulic reservoirs on the P-8A and how are they pressurized?
In the main wheel well area.
Systems A and B are pressurized by bleed air.
Standby system is pressurized through system B.
What is the function of booster assemblies on the P-8A?
So that pilots have a normal feel of control forces when hydraulic pressure is available to the booster cylinders.
What do actuators do?
Transform hydraulic pressure into mechanical force, to perform work.
What are the parts of a hydraulic system?
Pump Actuator Reservoir Tubing Selector valve
