Q

What does electrical shock do to the human body?

A

Passes through the body’s nervous system or vascular system to ground.
Disrupts the body’s normal electrical functions, and can stop the heart, lungs or both.
Can cause severe injury or death.

15
Q

What is the purpose of voltage regulator/supervisory panels, how many are there and where are they located?

A

Provide control of the generator and connects it to the bus transfer system. There are four located in the main load center.

Identical and interchangeable.

16
Q

What type of battery is in the P-3C and where is it located?

A

24-volt sealed lead acid battery. Located in the aft section of the nose wheel well.

17
Q

What is the purpose of the P-3C’s battery?

A

Normally used for starting the APU, but will provide power to most DC buses for a limited time in the event all other DC sources fail.

18
Q

What type of batteries are in the P-8A and where are they located?

A

Two 24-volt nickel cadmium batteries, main and auxiliary. Located in the electronics compartment.

19
Q

How do the batteries of the P-8A operate?

A

In parallel with each other when powering the standby system. At all other times, the auxiliary battery is isolated from the power distribution system.
