Hydraulics Flashcards
When does the PTU auto come on when armed?
Left Hyd < 1500 psi
Prevents auto op if:
<1 gal in reservoir
R Hyd > 104°C
The motor side of the PTU is driven by?
Right Hyd system pressure
When ARMED, the AUX pump comes on auto:
Brakes depressed 10° AND
Left Hyd / PTU Press < 1500 psi
Brake Accumulator psi pre-charge
1200 psi
If the L HYD sys fluid is depleted, but AUX fluid remains, what sys can provide braking?
AUX pump
Gear Emergency Blowdown Pre-Charge
3,100 psi
How do you turn off the L / R Hyd sys to get (0) hyd pressure?
Pull the fire handle
Pulling the engine fire handle out will shut off:
Hydraulic pressure
Fuel
IDG
Fluid quantities of the L / R Hyd reservoirs?
Full:
L = 2.8 gal Synoptic (2.75 gal limitations)
R = 0.7 gal Synoptic
Low:
L = 2.2 gal
R = 0.53 gal
What is lost if you lose the Left Hydraulics?
Left T/R
YD1
If no other means of pressurizing the Left hydraulic system (L HYD pump and PTU inop) is available, the AUX pump can provide hydraulic pressure to operate the following components:
Brakes and Flaps
(+NWS and YD1 in the 550)
Can you change the YD from LEFT to the RIGHT? How?
Yes
Disp Controller –> SENSOR btn < Box FCG 2
What is lost if you lose Right Hyd Sys pressure?
Right T/R
YD2
PTU
With the loss of both hyd systems:
Both YD’s are inop
If the PTU shuts off auto for over-temp, can you manually select it on?
Yes. Push “ON” switch
