Retroperitoneal Organs
SAD PUCKER - suprarenal glands, aorta, duodenum (2-4), pancreas (except tail), ureters, colon (ascending+descending), kidney, esophagus, rectum
Causes of acute pancreatitis
I GET SMASHED - idiopathic, gallstones, EtOH, trauma, scorpion sting, mumps, autoimmune, steroids, hypertriglyceridemia/hypercalcemia, ERCP, drugs (i.e. sulfa)
Nutcracker syndrome
L renal vein compressed between aorta/SMA
SMA syndrome
Duodenum (horizontal part) compressed between aorta/SMA
What landmark determines hematochezia v. hematesis?
Ligament of Treitz
