HVLA Innominate sacrum Flashcards
steps for hvla
engage rb in all 3 segments, breathing, thrust, reassess
Pelvis tart evaluation
Palpate Hamstrings, lower back muscles, quadriceps, adductors. , spring test for lateralization. Check for height of asis, medial malleoli, psis. Can also do inflare and outflare with distance to belly button.
Hamstring hypertonicity SD ME/MFR
One leg on your shoulder, you holding that leg and other arm pressing down at contralateral asis. have them push down, you resists, etc
LE: ITB Syndrome lateral recumbent,
They lateral recumbent with legs flexed, you running fist up the it band
LE: ITB Syndrome prone
They prone with foot flexed 90, push leg out and pull thigh towards you
MFR Lumbosacral region
They prone, you put one hand on back other on sacrum, do mfr in the different directions and rotations
HVLA superior innominate shear
They supine, grab above ankle, abduct then internally rotate, dont be on pants in way her pants will come down, do breathing cycles whyle applying some traction, then on last exhale pull down.
HVLA Inferior innominate shear
They lateral recumbent facing you, with top leg straight. Grab ASIS and PSIS with hands open, breath in out press up, keep doing, then on last exhale push up.
HVLA Anterior rotation
They lateral recumbent with top leg off table with top shoulder leaning back, pull on other hand to rotate them, then have them grab their other wrist with that hand. Put one hand under their hands above the psis, other arm along their psis to the trocanter, breathe in out then thrust upward with lower arm to rotate posteriorly.
HVLA Posterior rotation
They lateral recumbent with top leg triangle flexed with top shoulder leaning back, pull on other hand to rotate them, then have them grab their other wrist with that hand. Put one hand under their hands above the psis, other arm along their psis and lateral ridge, breathe in out then thrust towards you to make it do an anterior rotation.
HVLA Pubic restrictions
They supine knees flexed. Do ME in, out, in out, last time have their legs open, they pushing in, then when they relax quick thrust outwards
Sacrum TART evaluation
Lower back muscles, piriformis, hamstrings. Check sacral sulci depths and ILA depths.
MFR Lumbosacral region
Hands one above other on patients lower back, do mfr
Sacral rocking
Bottom hand is pointed towards feet, other one on top of it, Inhalation sacrum downwards, exhalation upwards, repeat ten times with their breathing
HVLA: Bilateral sacral flexion
They prone, bring legs out and internaly rotate them, palm of hand to apex of sacrum pointed upwards, breathing accentuating inhalation and exhalation, on inhalation do your thrust anterior and kind of superior. (making them more into extension)
HVLA Bilateral sacral extension
Abduct and externally rotate, hand at base pointed downwards, they take deep breaths resist inhalation and accentuate exhalation, on last exhale do thrust anterior and inferior.
HVLA Right on a left axis sacral torsion
They supine, you on axis side, C shape sidebend them away from you, they grab their neck with both hands, one hand grab their upper arm on opposite side, other hand stabilize opposite asis, with breathing pull their arm and upper torso towards you, thrust is on the asis downward. C shape is away from u
Lumbar prone pressure
They prone, you in lumbar region pressing down on opposite lumbar musculature
Lumbar prone pressure with counterleverage
They prone, one hand grabbing opposite asis pulling up, other hand pushing down on lumbar musculature going up and down
Lumbar: paraspinal perpendicular stretch lateral recumbent
They lateral recumbent facing you, you grab upper back musculature and pull up.
L1-5 Extension/neutral dysfunctions
They supine with hands on back neck elbows up, you on opposite of ptp, make c away from physician for neutral and towards for extension, grab bicep away from you and pull towards you, other hand on their iposite asis, the thrust is rotateion pulling bicep towards youl
HVLA: Type 1 lumbar- lateral recumbent
Ptp always up, they in lateral recumbent facing you (pull on lower arm to rotate their back onto table) top leg flexed so foot is at knee of lower leg, one hand monitoring the ptp, have her grab her hands on top of her body, top arm is on her greater trochanter/illiac crest pulling to you, other hand is in between her arms pushing the other way, thrust is on illiac crest towards you.
HVLA Type 2 Lumbar lateral recumbent
They lateral recumbent, pull lower arm so they get onto their back, (for extended top leg off table, for flexed top leg slightly flexed to have foot in popliteal space), bottom leg slightly flexed, their arms grabbing each other, your arm on their hip pulling and thrust toward you, other hand on upper torso pushing down.
