What is the prostate gland?
Produces fluid called semen that provides sperm with nutrients
What is the sperm duct?
Sperm passes through the sperm duct to be mixed with fluids produced by glands before being passed into the urethra through ejaculation
What are the testis?
Contained in a bag of skin and produes sperm and testosterone
What is the scrotum?
Supports the testes outside the body to ensure sperm is kept at a temperature slightly lower than body temperature
What is the penis?
Passes urine out of the body from the bladder and allows semen to pass into the vagina during sexual intercourse
What are the oviducts?
Connects the ovary to the uterus, lined with ciliated cells to push released ovum, fertilisation occurs here.
What are the ovaries?
Contains ova that mature and develop when hormones are released
What is the uterus?
Muscular bag with soft lining where the fertilized egg implants to develop into fetus
What is the cerix?
Ring of muscle at the lower end of the uterus to keep the developing fetus in place during pregnancy
What is the vagina?
Muscular tube leading inside the womans body, where the males penis and sperm enter during sexual intercourse
