STAGE 1: uterus breaks down (period)- Day 1-4
STAGE 2: lining of the uterus builds up ready for egg implantation- Day 4-13
STAGE 3: the egg is released - Day 14
STAGE 4: if no egg fertilised lining of uterus maintained until day 28/1

What are the 5 stages of fertilisation?

A

STAGE 1: Ovulation (egg released from a ovary)
STAGE 2: Copulation 9 sperm released from penis into vagina during intercourse
STAGE 3: fertilisation occurs in the fallopian tube( nuclei of egg and sperm join and become a zygote
STAGE 4: cell division- 24 hours after fertilisation the egg divides into 2 by 4 days its divided into 32 cells and is an embryo
STAGE 5: implantation- about 1 week after fertilisation the embryo starts to implant itself into the wall of the uterus and the placenta starts to develop
