who should be placed on high statin therapy?
- DM 1 or 2, age 4075 with a 10 y ASCVD risk above 7.5%
- anyone LDL above 190
- anyone with clinical ASCVD plus age is under or equal to 75
who should be on moderate to high intensity statin therapy?
if you have over 7.5% ACVD 10 year risk or if you have ASCVD risk and you are 40-75 yo
Moderate statin therapy option
atorvastatin, rosuvastatin, simvastatin, pravastatin, ritavastatin,
who should strictly be on moderate statins and NOT high?
if you have clinical ascvd with age over 75 OR not a candidate for high statins, OR DM type 1 or 2 within ages 40-75
what is top 3 treatments for familial hypercholesteremia
evolocomab (Repatha), alirocumab (Praluent) , lomitapide (Juxtapid)
statin alternatives: (6)
ezetimibe, fibric acids, niacin, bile acid sequesterants, omega 3s, apples?
What counts as having clinical ASCVD?
LDL over 190, or DM age 40-75 with LDL 70-189 or LDL is less than 190 but have estimated ASCVD risk of at least 7.5%
