How did you get here? Career journey?

A
  • Born & raised in Maryland
  • Graduated HS 2013 took 1st flight, caught the bug. Had to move to TN for college to play softball (2 years)
  • 2016 transferred to UND, graduated in 2019
  • Spent 3 summers as counselor/CFI at EAA, worked at UND briefly then graduated and moved to Florida
  • MEI in August
  • ARC for L3Harris next month
  • 99s, NGPA, NAFI
  • I am the only pilot in the family
  • Now I’m here and excited to be talking with you guys!

You are the FO, CA tells you to inform pax there is a delay due to weather…but the real issue is maintenance. What do you do?

A
  • Ask why they feel the need to be dishonest
  • Suggest an alternative, like just announcing a delay, period
  • If it will ruin CRM and potentially jeopardize the flight I may agree and later submit a report. Either way the outcome is the same and there is not safety concerns

You have a disruptive passenger on your flight, how do you handle it?

A
  • Gather available information
  • Diffuse the situation
  • Ensure cabin crew & customers are safe
  • Issue a warning
  • If they are a flight hazard, have them removed

A

I’ve always had a great impression of the company as a customer and as a student at UND when representatives would visit.

Lot of opportunity for growth/professional development

The employees I’ve met have all seemed genuinely happy about their decision and quality of life, is which is extremely important to me.

I like that you’re wholly owned by Delta, and the base option are in areas that I like.

My beliefs are aligned with the company’s Mission and Values!

  • Have phone on loud and nearby at all times
  • Bags packed and ready with snacks
  • Gas in car
  • Ensure I have no other engagements while I’m on an assigned day of reserve

What was a hard decision you had to make?

A

Making the jump to UND to become a pilot!

How did you perform in flight training/college?

A

I did my best and my best was enough in some cases, and not the best in others. Mostly it worked out.

Tell me about a extremely difficult training item that I struggled with in my life and how I overcame it.

A

Learning how to land in the Right seat during CFI….observing, practicing, maintaining motivation

You witness sexual harassment between to co-workers, what do you do?

A

Ask victim if they are okay and offer support, inform them of their resources. Do not confront the offender, submit a report.
