What does FSH do?
A
In males it acts on Sertoli cells and promotes spermatogenesis.
In females it acts on granulosa cells and promotes follicular growth.
Target cells secrete inhibin which inhibits the action of FSH acting as negative feedback.

What does LH do?
A
In males it acts on leydig cells and promotes testosterone secretion.
In females it acts on thecal cells and promotes oestrogen secretion. Ovulation is triggered by a LH surge.
Sex steroids provide a negative feedback system for LH and GnRH.
