What was the Fox-North coalition?
A party with Fox and North at the head, they wanted to take power away from the king. Had a large majority and made the king choose one of them as PM, he couldn’t do anything he wanted
What was the India Bill?
A Bill by the Fox-North coalition to take away power from the king regarding the East India Company.
Why was Pitt against the India Bill?
He believed it went against the King and was attacking the East India Company’s rights and patronage.
Why was Pitt unlikely to succeed?
He was young, 24, and was seen as inexperienced
He started off with a small majority in Parliament
He was called the Mince Pie Administration because he wasn’t going to last after Christmas
