Limitations of the PLAA 1834

A
  • Parliament didn’t say how it was to be implemented - arguments over what parliament wanted
  • poor law commission took power from the parishes
  • workhouse commission could only happen if outdoor relief stopped
  • board of overseers corrupt as it wasn’t changed unlike the old overseers
