2
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
After Entering the Jet
A
Check instruments and electrical equipment for moisture (in a humid environment) or dust (if in desert environment)
3
Q

Expect slower acceleration to idle (because of the less dense air)
5
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Taxi
A
- Minimize braking
- Keep distance from jets to avoid sand blasting
6
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Takeoff
A
- Less performance, so adhere to climbout speeds
- EGT light likely, monitor temps and time limits
7
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Climbout
A
Normal, only less performance
8
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
During Flight
A
- Avoid sand/dust storms
- If staying low and using body tanks for fuel (i.e. doing patterns), alternate Fwd/Aft pumps to avoid overheating the hydro fluid
9
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Descent
A
Normal

Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Approach and Landing
A

- Don’t cross the Rwy threshold slower than V_thresh
- Longer ground roll
- Careful on the brakes
11
Q
PHASE OF FLIGHT:
Engine Shutdown
A
Normal
12
Q
