What are hormones and where are they released from?
Hormones are chemical released into the blood, they affect on a particular area and they control thing that need constant adjustment.
Secreted by glands, called endocrine glands
Where are they released in the brain?
The pituitary gland regulates the body , it is the most important gland because these hormones act on other glands, this gland starts changes in the body.
Where are they released in the throat?
The thyroid gland takes control of the metabolism , heart rate and temperature .
Where are they released in in the concentrated area of the Body (near liver, pancreas)?
Adrenal glands make adrenaline which is used for fight or flight response .
Where are they released in female only?
The ovaries produce oestrogen which is involved in the menstrual cycle
Where are they released in males only?
Tested produce testosterone which controls puberty and sperm production
Where is it released near the adrenal glands and does something with blood?
The pancreas produces insulin which is used to regulate glucose levels.
What are neurones ?
Very fast action
Act for a very short time
Act on a very precise area
What are hormones ?
Slower action
Act for a longer time
