Q

How are the responses of the nervous system?

A

The speed response is very rapid as the duration of the response is short as the type of response of the nervous system is muscle contraction or secretion

Q

In the menstrual cycle, what happens?

A

1) FSH Is released from pituitary, 2) causes egg to mature and triggers the ovaries to release oestrogen, 3) FSH stops and causes LH to be released along with the eggs, 4) causes ovaries to release progesterone (which maintains the thick uterus lining) and 5) if pregnancy occurs LH stops

Q

What does FSH do?

A

It promotes the release of oestrogen, promoted growth and maturity of a follicle in the ovaries and is produced by the pituitary and is carried by the blood

Q

What does progesterone do?

A

It maintains the lining of the uterus after ovulation, once the egg is released it is released from the empty follicle, it inhabits the productions of both FSH and LH, it’s produced and secreted by the ovaries and once it’s levels have decreased, lining of the uterus falls away and is shed during menstruation

Q

A

It builds up and repairs the lining of the uterus after menstruation, it inhabits the production of FSH, it is produced and secreted by the ovaries and it stimulates the release of LH
