What is type 1 diabetes?
It’s a disorder in which the pancreas fails to produce sufficient insulin, its characterised by uncontrolled high blood glucose levels and is usually treated with insulin injections
What is type 2 diabetes?
It’s when the body no longer responds to insulin produced by the pancreas, it has a carbohydrate controlled diet and an excessive regime are common treatments and obesity is found to be a big risk
What is FSH stand for?
Follicle stimulating hormones
What happens in a fight or flight response?
Our breathing increases and allows more oxygen to the brain and muscles to release more energy through respiration
What is adrenaline?
It is a hormone segreted from the adrenal glands, which are just above the kidney and it helps prepare us for the fight or flight response
What is Thygroxine?
It is a hormone secreted from the thyroid gland in the neck and it controls our metabolic rate and keeps our breathing and heart rate balanced
